ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Master’s program in “Law and Digital Technologies” is an interdisciplinary study program that combines the fields of law, economics, and technical sciences. This study is designed for graduates and professionals from various social, technical, biotechnical, and biomedical fields who have already completed their first-cycle studies with a minimum of 240 ECTS credits. The program is administered by the University of Sarajevo, entrusted to the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, and delivered by faculty members and associates from the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics, and Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Sarajevo, as well as experts from practice, other partner institutions, and organizations from Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad.
It is designed to provide knowledge, skills, and competencies that are in line with the demands of the labor market, the need for continuous education, and the rapid development of new technologies. Participants will develop a deep understanding of the regulatory frameworks governing digital technologies at the national and international levels, including laws, regulations, and policies. They will also be trained to analyze legal, economic, and ethical issues arising from the use of digital technologies, such as privacy, security, intellectual property, and human rights.
STUDY OBJECTIVES
The program aims to provide education and training to participants from various sectors to acquire a deeper understanding of the legal and economic aspects of digital technologies and their impact on modern business. The study is intended for both employed individuals and those planning to work in various sectors, including IT companies, marketing agencies, judicial institutions, legal practice, legislative bodies, public administration, regulatory bodies, healthcare institutions, researchers, and university lecturers.
Through this program, participants will acquire skills in using digital technologies, analyzing and assessing legal issues related to digital technologies, and understanding the value chain in a digital environment. They will also develop the ability to integrate legal, economic, and technical knowledge to develop innovative solutions for complex issues related to digital technologies. The program also covers the understanding of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and cloud computing.
STRUCTURE AND DURATION OF STUDY
The second-cycle study program lasts for one year (two semesters) with a total of 60 ECTS credits. Students must complete the program within two years.
It consists of 6 mandatory courses, 3 elective courses, three mandatory interdisciplinary workshops, and the preparation and defense of a master’s thesis (Final thesis). The instruction is conducted in Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian and English language.
DIPLOMA AND ACADEMIC TITLE
The diploma is issued by the University of Sarajevo.
Academic title and professional qualification upon completion of the second cycle: Master of Law and Digital Technologies.
TUITION FEES
The tuition fee for the Master’s program in Law and Digital Technologies is 8,000 KM. The payment schedule is tied to semester payments of 4,000 KM each.
ENROLLMENT CRITERIA
Candidates who have the right to enroll in an interdisciplinary Master’s program (second cycle) are:
- Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and foreign citizens with completed corresponding first cycle studies in Bosnia and Herzegovina valued at a minimum of 240 ECTS credits, which in combination with the evaluation of the second cycle amounts to a minimum of 300 ECTS credits.
- Those who have completed their studies according to pre-Bologna curricula in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Those who have completed an integrated study program lasting five or six years, as well as
- Candidates who completed their first cycle or pre-Bologna studies outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for which adequate education for continuing studies has been established following the recognition or equivalence procedure.
DOCUMENTS
With the application form (request) for enrollment in the study and online application, candidates must submit:
- Original diploma and diploma supplement (for students who completed the Bologna study), or nostrified diploma for candidates who did not complete their previous study in Bosnia and Herzegovina (students of the University of Sarajevo who completed the first cycle of study may submit a certificate of completed study until the diploma and diploma supplement are issued, if the promotion and diploma award ceremony is after the deadline for submitting applications for enrollment in this competition), or a certified copy of the original diploma, diploma supplement, or nostrified diploma
- Certificate of passed exams (original or certified copy)
- Birth Certificate
- Citizenship Certificate
- Other documents relevant for determining the number of points according to criteria.
