WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

The workshop will focus on modern ways of academic and professional communication through presentation skills and techniques in English. Oral presentations are considered important for students in an academic environment, especially for master’s students who present their seminar papers and defend their theses. The ability to present in English also enhances overall communication skills in that language, which is a prerequisite for international academic exchange programs. Additionally, this teaches future young professionals transferable soft skills necessary for their future work. Preparing and delivering an effective oral presentation in English improves:

• Communication skills in English, which is today’s lingua franca

• Autonomy, critical thinking, and risk-taking

• Presentation skills in a professional environment

Making an effective oral presentation is a skill that can be learned. This workshop focuses solely on the skills that students need to develop in order to make the presentation process easier and the execution more organized, accurate, and effective. During the workshop, we will discuss the selection of presentation content, visual aids, and delivery techniques. Theory will be supplemented by practical exercises.
