The Beginning of 2023 Summer Program “Comparative Public Health: Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina”, organized by the University of Sarajevo, Northwestern University, and University of Belgrade

The students from the United States Northwestern University were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Enita Nakaš, and the Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, Prof. Dr. Nihad Fejzić, on July 17, 2023, marking the beginning of the summer program called Comparative Public Health: Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina 2023. After spending one month at the University of Belgrade, American students will expand their knowledge about crucial socio-economic, political, cultural, and other factors to gain a better understanding of the public health situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The program includes lectures, workshops, visits to museums, memorial centers, galleries, healthcare institutions, therapeutic communities, and professional excursions throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the first few days, students from Northwestern University attended expert lectures given by Prof. Dr. Ksenija Kondali and Prof. Dr. Amir Duranović and had the opportunity to explore the landmarks of Sarajevo, visit the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and engage in socializing with their peers from the University of Sarajevo during their free time.
