
The eighth semester of FER (Feminism and Religion) online school was completed, and on 07.06.2025, a formal certificate award ceremony was held at the premises of SPKD Prosvjeta, Sarajevo, for some of the participants who attended both the academic and non-academic programs of this school.
The academic program of the FER school is conducted at the University of Sarajevo: Center for Interdisciplinary Studies named after Prof. Dr. Zdravko Grebo, in cooperation with the TPO Foundation since 2024, and the non-academic one in cooperation with the Ecumenical Women’s Initiative from Omiš since 2021.
In this semester, at the academic level, female and male students attended five courses at the University of Sarajevo:
- History of Feminism in the West
- History of Feminism in the East
- Gender, Religion, and Gender-Based Violence
- Gender, Religion, and Peacebuilding
- Gender, Religion, and Media
At the non-academic level, five courses were attended:
- Feminism: An Absolute Curse
- Eastern Faces of Feminism
- Don’t Walk Like That: Sociology of Gender
- There Are Few of Us, But We Exist
- Is Peace a Woman’s Thing?
On average, each course was successfully completed by 10–14 participants, making a total of over 70 throughout the semester. Those who completed all requirements received certificates with ECTS credits, and those who partially fulfilled the requirements received a certificate of attendance.
At the certificate award ceremony, the leaders of the FER school, Prof. Dr. Zilka Spahić Šiljak and Dr. Jadranka Rebeka Anić, addressed the participants. It was also an opportunity for some participants to share their reflections on what they had learned, what they had given, and what they had received during sessions attended by both women and men from across the Balkan region.
