The representatives of the Global Campus Child Leadership Team South East Europe were invited to present their project proposal to the Steering Group of the Global Campus of Human Rights, as well as attend the conference on the Global State of Human Rights in Venice. The team met up twice a week with the chosen representatives, Una Balta and Marta Milosavljević, to prepare a presentation on the CLT’s project proposal in Venice. The children’s project was named: Addressing the Impacts of Cyberbullying on the Mental Health of Children.
The children and CRRO attended the meet-up and presentations of all the CLT members on May 24th, where they presented their work and ideas, and the project proposal and discussion were well received by the members of the Steering group. Moreover, the CLT SEE representatives contributed with their speeches to the High Level Conference on the Global State of Human Rights in Venice on May 25th, facilitated by the CRRO, Nejira Pašić.
In addition, the work of the CLT SEE rewarded them with a trip to Venice and an experience in presenting, negotiations, and communication skills they will likely never forget. Below is the direct feedback from the girls that attended the conference:
Una: In my eyes the trip to The Global Conference in Venice was amazing. I had the chance to talk about important topics for us children with my friend Marta and we were actually heard by the adults. I was very happy that they took us seriously and actually listened to us. The best part for me was when we had our presentation and discussion on the first day. Me and my friend Marta loved the way that adults welcomed us and let us talk openly. I am looking forward to meeting each other again very soon.
Marta: For me trip to The Global Conference in Venice was amazing. Me and my friend had the opportunity to present our ideas and I was very happy that adults listened to us and took us seriously. For me the most interesting thing were our presentations and a little trip to the UNESCO office in Venice that was truly awesome. Also the adult members who welcomed us were really nice and polite and made us feel like home. I really hope that we will all see each other again anytime soon!
