On May 24th at 14.00 at the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Law of the University of Banja Luka, a presentation of the European Regional Master Programme in Democracy and Human Rights in South East Europe Programme (ERMA) will take place. This double degree programme is coordinated by the Universities of Sarajevo and Bologna, part of the Global Campus of Human Rights (GC) and co-financed since 2000/01 by the EU and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy, via the Embassy in Sarajevo.
The event will be the occasion to announce a cooperation agreement between the ERMA programme and the University of Banja Luka, allowing for its Faculties of Law and Political Sciences to join the ERMA regional university consortium, hence becoming a member of the GC. This is a remarkable achievement for the development of human rights higher education in Bosnia and Hercegovina and in the region, which was warmly welcomed by the EU and the Italian Government.
The presentation foresees the participation of the Deans of the Faculties, the ERMA coordinators, H. E. the Ambassador of Italy Nicola Minasi and Ms. Viara Valtchanova form the Delegation of the EU in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the second part of the event will take place a moderated discussion about the importance of human rights education at the local and regional level, with the participation of ERMA alumni Ivan Barbalić and Bojana Mikanovic.
